) in order to provide enough time for the brain and body to repair itself. It is one of the most important things we can do for our long-term health (mental and physical). People stating they can live on 4-5 hours a night are kidding themselves. This is one of the reasons men decline so rapidly after having prostate problems. Since they have to get up repeatedly during the night to urinate, their sleep is interrupted leading to more rapid neurological and physical decline.
Technology is not helping our circadian rhythm, at all.

I see it every day in my students who seemingly grow more and more obese in front of my eyes while taking adderal to pull "all nighters" and using caffeine and sugar to fuel their lives. This "under 30" generation is forecasted to die younger than their parents, for the first time in our Nation's history. Scary times!
