Spoiled

Postby cainenine » April 1st, 2012, 2:05 am

My dogs live in the house with my wife and I and they have free reign of the furniture Archie sleeps with us in bed basically our housing is their housing LOL I do crate my dogs when I feel its neccesary but even then they have lots of blankets, yes we spoil em and that's how we like it or at least thats what the dogs tell us

sounds like my house. :D
the puppy and old girl(and any fosters) get crated at night or if we go out, but otherwise they get to sleep on our bed, on our couches, or on the pile of blankets/dog beds that take up so much space on living room floor!
our yard isn't fenced yet (happening this spring!) so right now if they go outside and we aren't out there they have tie-ups. we mostly just use these in the morning. normally we're out there with them working in the yard or out walking/hiking.

the moose and deer mostly stay away from our yard thanks to all our dogs. we've run into a bear before on our hikes, the dogs didn't even noticed it until after it took off and they smelled it. a lot of our yard is forest and it will probably be too much to fence it all so we'll probably just fence an acre or 2 around the house where the trees are cleared. our only dog capable of jumping a tall fence (cheeno) is a scardy cat and wouldn't want to chase anything if he saw it on the other side. up here in redneck country it is illegal for your dogs to chase wildlife and often people will shoot other peoples dogs if they catch them chasing a deer so we've really tried hard to work on them not chasing.... not easy... and so far only moderatley successful.....
i'm getting a huge veggie garden going this spring so i kind hope the dogs do keep the deer away!

Princess Queenie! Nope, Ruby is NOT at all spoiled! I love having a (home) office dog! If/when we graduate to an offsite office, she WILL come with us as our mascot!

(she gets bed privileges, too)

It's true. Archie also has a rain/warm jacket for walks and romping in the cold/wet weather. And he has two t-shirt that we wet down for walks in the heat (one is tie dye, I had to throw my hippie influence in somehow  ) and he has two sweaters that Grandma Sue gave him. Our Patterdale has a fleece jacket too, but he rarely gets as cold as the smooth coated Archinald. :)

HAHAHHAHAHA. Bogart has a raincoat and won't go to the bathroom without it and an umbrella being held over him.

I don't have a raincoat, and only have enough arms for a leash and one umbrella. So I stand and get soaked while I hold the umbrella over the dog. It's PATHETIC

Also he does sleep on the bed which I hate because he tends to elbow me or push me off the bed and ALWAYS pushes himself between Dan and I, and I have had pain in my legs from being pretzled up around him all night lol.

Also...mornings like today I really think twice about it - he had raw herring for breakfast and then came back to bed, and YEP - you guessed it - hadn't chewed his food before swallowing (where is the puke emoticon????). Nice stench at 5am.
